The Old Man Mountain Band Clamps are used to mount both OMM Front Racks and OMM Rear Racks on bikes that don’t have V/cantilever brake bosses. Many newer bike frames and forks designed to be used with disc brakes, do not include V/cantilever brake bosses. OMM Band Clamps also come in handy for mounting OMM Rear Racks onto road frames with center-mounted caliper brakes instead of V or cantilever brakes. To figure out what size Band Clamps you need, you will need to determine the diameter of your seat stays (rear racks) or forks (front racks) where you will be mounting the extenders of your OMM rack. To determine the diameter, take a piece of string and wrap it around the seat stay or fork. Measure the length of the string and divide it by 3.14 to get the diameter.
